Over the past seven years, Shake Shack has become a veritable New York City landmark, and a burger force to be reckoned with.

Shake Shack first opened its doors in July of 2004 in Madison Square Park.  10 locations later, six of which are located in New York City, Shake Shack has become a burger to be reckoned with.  In 2005, the SS burger was crowned as the Best Burger by New York Magazine… and every location boasts a line-up which can attest the claim.

The Theatre District location opened its doors just last year, and although it is located several minutes from our offices, I never amassed the courage to tackle the lineup.  During the summer, the wait can easily stretch to over an hour.  I finally decided to take the plunge and try it out… and there have been no regrets.

The menu is straight forward- burgers, shakes and custards, hot dogs, and fries.  That’s it, that’s all!  You may also enjoy your meal with a selection of beer and wine.  All burgers are made with 100% all natural Angus beef.  Shake Shack burgers are cooked to medium, unless otherwise noted.

Burger prices range from a single Shack Burger ($4.50) with American cheese, lettuce, Tomato, and Shack Sauce- to a Shack Stack ($8.50) which is a cheeseburger and a Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato, and Shack Sauce.

As a side order the delicious fries ($2.65) made with Yukon Gold potatoes are an excellent choice.  You also have the option to add Shack cheddar and American cheese sauce on your fries for an extra buck.

A traditional vanilla shake ($5.00) is a great way to enjoy the Shake Shack experience.  For the daring foodie, The Great White Way ($6.00) a vanilla custard with marshmallow sauce and crispy crunchies.  One taste of the Great White Way, and you will be in heaven.

Two more locations will be opening soon; one in Grand Central Terminal, and one in Downtown Brooklyn.
