The Beatles once again in the spotlight thanks to the film "Across the
Universe," the flurry of tribute bands making full-scale careers by
recreating the Fab Four, and the recent album by the Smithereens,
"Meet The Smithereens," that basically is a fantastic recreation of
their first album, "Meet the Beatles."

So we offer our own takes on these Beatle-esque phenomena with both a
hard-hitting review of the Julie Taymor-directed film and through a
curious video interview with the New Jersey-based Smithereens band
leader/founder Pat DiNuzio.
