Mike Daisey,
a fascinating monologuist. is now performing his solo show "Great Men of Genius: PT Barnum" at Joe's Pub. Incomparable to other solo shows, here Daisey focuses on four separate biographical stories: The amazing and tumultuous journeys of Bertolt Brecht, P.T. Barnum, Nikola Tesla and L. Ron Hubbard.

Daisey explores a different strand of the human spirit and the struggles of genius in each scenario. He depicts the individual battles each man undergoes in his respective world, swimming through the tides of insanity, pride, and chauvinism, while simultaneously revealing how these separate journeys converge and connect al a central point.

Daisey not only recounts the story of these four men, but within each performance inserts his own personal anecdotes, thereby revealing an inherent universality within these stories  that anyone can relate to.

Though each performance focuses on a separate individual, the first being Bertolt Brecht, then P.T. Barnum and so on, and can be viewed independently, all four together form an epic account of triumph, failure, disaster and hope marked with Mike Daisy's signature style of dark, comic intensity.

Directed by Jean-Michele Gregory, this is theatre you cannot get anywhere else. A rare and treasured opportunity, this is a must see.
