It’s that time again— red carpets popping up in random places, stars tripping down the street, the public tripping over tripods, and lines of the hopeful waiting for rush tickets. Yep-the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival is invading Manhattan once again. C’mon, it wouldn’t be springtime in New York without it. The festival runs from April 20th through May 1st.

The Drive-In and Family Festival are features of the festival that can be a lot fun, weather permitting. Or if you’re looking for a little testosteronal stimulation, you can give the family the slip and get your ya-ya’s out at the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day. Or if you’d rather here some pontification on the industry, take a staid seat at one of the Tribeca Talks series.

It’s not all about art though. There’s some serious booty to be won for filmmakers and actors.

Six Tribeca Film Festival juries will be doling out $175,000 in cash and prizes for films; winners also get a real Tribeca memento—a piece of original art by an acclaimed artist. This year’s jury pool of 38 packs some potent star power- Denis Leary, Whoopi Goldberg, Dianne Wiest, former Tribeca Film Festival director Peter Scarlett, Lauren Hutton, Denis Leary and Fran Lebowitz, just to name a few.

If you don’t want to brave the crowds, find yourself ricocheting off of celebrities or be ushered around police barriers (in other words, you’re fairly sane or really lame), you can pop some popcorn and catch a few of the films at home cuddled up with date. Some will be available on demand by visiting tribecafilm.com/tribecafilm/providers, finding your cable company, and clicking your way through the prompts (and onto your cable bill).
