Incident in New Baghdad Directed by: James Spione Interview with Ethan McCord Interviewed by Carmella McDonald Photograph: Carmella McDonald Cadillac Tribeca Press Lounge, Documentary Filmmakers Incident in New Baghadad is a documentary, based on Iraq war veteran Ethan McCord, from the Collateral Murder video, posted by WikiLeaks in April 5, 2010. Ethan McCord is the soldier seen in the video carrying the injured boy from the van. This massacre in Baghdad of unarmed civilians and two Iraqi journalists employed by Reuters in July 2007, has been viewed more than 6 million times on the Internet. Ethan states: “I saved two children a girl of 5 years and a boy of 8 years, after an Apache helicopter shot at a van with these children inside. I was berated by the military for this action, as they stated I was saving future terrorists. We shot a lot of civilians as it was deemed that the entire populace of Iraq was the enemy and thus everyone is a target. I was called a pussy and told to take the “sand out of my vagina”. Disgusted with the war I became more vocal and so they kicked me out, without any compensation claiming and my injuries (shattered spine) were all pre existing before joining the military.” This documentary details Ethan’s military life and profound experiences after this incidence. Premiere: Sunday April 24th, 3.00pm AMC Loews Village Cinema. New York. For more Times Square articles like Incident in New Baghdad please visit the Film Features Section of TimesSquare.com
