Fall 2011 Trend Report  E-mail

Fall is upon us and as always, the season’s fashion is undeniably gorgeous.   Many fashionistas (like me) are ready to shed the sheer and barely there clothing and fabrications of the summer and embrace the brisk winds.  After all, we’re talking boots, sweaters, hats, trenches, gloves.  Fall is THE fashion season of the year!

The trends that we are seeing this season include bright colors, which are reminiscent of spring and summer, yet done in the heavier apropos fabrics.  Polka dots are everywhere, as are patterns and prints of all kinds.  Accessories are in full fling, including scarves daintily tied around the neck.  Ladies fashion this fall is pretty, soft and flattering with that streak of edge and panache.  You’ll find that cheetah and snake prints are huge as well.  No dreary hues ladies.  Embrace color and pair it with nudes and simple blacks and whites to make bold statements.

Lace is a nice carry over from last fall and even seen on the runways for Spring 2012 this year.  Lace dresses are huge and these are easy to wear.  Providing stretch naturally, wearing a cami (or many are built in, especially for dresses) is a great way to dress easy while looking romantic, soft and beautiful.  They are also great for so many different body types.

Peep toes are the rave! (But aren’t they always?) A new spin on the peep toe is the peep toe wedge bootie.   Lace up booties are also huge. These shoes go great with jeans and skirts so it is definitely a multi useful shoe that can go from the office, to the lounge after work for drinks.

Navajo inspired sweaters and sweater dresses are something new and unique that is seen all around us.  With soft background colors like taupe or soft brown, these prints are usually vibrant and bold in hues of turquoise and gold.  What a great way to be fashionably warm in comfort!

Also big this season is the tuxedo look, as seen on the runways of Dolce and Gabbana. Who says a woman can’t look great dressed as a man? Anyone that does obviously didn’t see Lady Gaga in full character swing for the MTV Video Music Awards.  Work those tuxedo pants and that romantically ruffled button down tuxedo top ladies.  The look is classy, elegant and sexy.  Add a bit of dramatic flair with your hair pulled back tight and some bright red lipstick.

Stay tuned for more insight for this season as well as Spring 2012 straight off of the runways for fashion, accessories and beauty.  Until then fashionistas, keep it beautiful but best of all, keep it you.
