This spring 2011, COVERGIRL has decided to celebrate the New Year by going natural with a new line of makeup called NatureLuxe and multi-platinum artist Taylor Swift was recently announced as the official face of the line. Pat McGrath, the COVERGIRL Global Creative Design Director, came out with this new innovation with the intention of replacing the regular synthetic ingredients found in COVERGIRL makeup with naturally-based products. Two products are set to come out at the beginning of the this Year, containing bioresin which is a biodegradable plastic that comes from sugarcane, making this line much more eco-friendly. The first product set to come out, the new Liquid Silk Foundation with SPF 10, is composed of natural jojoba and rosehip extracts as well as cucumber water. This foundation is sure to leave skin feeling refreshed, soft, and smooth, while ensuring full coverage. What makes it even better than regular foundation is that it is more lightweight due to the cucumber water which is particularly ideal for those with oily or sensitive skin. This product has been checked by dermatologists and it is also oil free. Once released, fourteen different shades will be available at various drugstores at the price of 11..99$. The second product, the Gloss Balm with SPF 15, contains mango butter, Shea butter, and other butters rather than the heavier oils that most makeup products are composed of, giving it the same lightweight feel as the Liquid Silk Foundation. This product provides you with gloss and lip balm all in one small eco-friendly package. This ensures luscious lips as well as soft moisturization without the usual heavy and sticky feeling that most lip glosses or lip balms have. It protects lips against the sun and the wind. It will be available in sixteen different shades ranging from lighter to darker colours suitable for every skin tone once it is released at drugstores everywhere at the price of 6.49$. These products will be considered high-end, ensuring a polished look emulating Taylor’s simple yet naturally refined style and the ads are scheduled to be released this month along with the new line. We’ll see what other new green versions of COVERGIRL products this brand will have to offer in the future. For more info on COVERGIRL products visit: www.covergirl.com
